Circle 2: Explore the Unseen Aspects of Circle Keeping While Enhancing Your Intuitive Abilities; June 12 and 13, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fee: $165

Keeping a Circle can be organized and clear, until it’s not. We will explore the power of our own Intuition. How can we hold the rim of the Circle, so that all can explore what their heart calls to them in that moment? Join Circle Keepers to explore the unseen aspects of Circle Keeping: Intuition, Emotionality, Synchronicity, Spirituality, Quantum Physics, Morphogenic Fields, the Effect of Silence, Power of Story Telling and completely Trusting the Process. Participants will experience what Quantum Physics teaches us about the connections and entrainment of a group, that calls for following the energy of the Circle, rather than expectations of the Keeper. Participants should have at least one four-day training and some Circle Keeping experience.

Buechner: “When a deep gladness in your heart meets a deep need in the world,” she knew she was “called” to keeping the Circle strong and present in schools and communities for the rest of her life. Deepening Our Peacemaking Circle Facilitation Skills; June 16 & 17, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fee: $165

The peacemaking circle brings us continuous learning from those we sit in circle with and from one another as keepers. Join us for sharing with other keepers and celebrating the work we do as we learn from one another.
This training will focus on circles for building community, processing community stress or trauma and problem solving in schools. Circles are based on an assumption of positive potential that something good can always come out of whatever situation we are in. Circles also assume that no one of us has the whole picture that it is only by sharing all of our perspectives that we can come closer to a complete picture. Prior training in circle facilitation or experience as a circle facilitator recommended.

  • Apology as Restorative Practice; June 18, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fee: $80

    Apology as Restorative Practice; June 18, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fee: $80

What makes an apology “good” or “bad”? Should anyone ever be required to apologize? Does receiving an apology compel a person to forgive? Who decides? Those and other questions about apologies come up every day in the work Chris Godsey does while co-coordinating the Minnesota Department of Corrections Restorative Justice Program’s apology letter process. When he joins us, Chris will describe what he has learned about apologies while thinking about and discussing them every day and initiate dialogue that helps us start exploring apologies in our professional and personal lives.
    Trainer: Chris Godsey
Chris Godsey has worked in the Minnesota Department of Corrections Restorative Justice Program since January of 2022. A primary part of his job is helping incarcerated people write apology letters for actions that have caused severe harm including death. From 1998 until 2019 he taught writing and cultural-studies courses at the University of Minnesota Duluth and the College of St. Scholastica. From 2010 until 2024 he co-facilitated change-based conversations among men arrested for using violence against women. And from the middle of 2019 until the end of 2021, he co-coordinated the Men as Peacemakers Domestic Violence Restorative Circles Program. He maintains his own evolving practice of accountability (apology, amends, and change). And he lives in Duluth’s Chester Park neighborhood with his wife, Shannon, and their brindle super-mutt Mocha.
