Pathway to Licensure

Through a partnership with Lakes Country Service Cooperative, Minnesota State University Moorhead, along with the following Public Schools: Moorhead Area, Fargo, and West Fargo; we are able to offer continiuning studies cousework are offered. The courses can be taken for continuing education (CEU's) or for graduate credit which can even be applied towards your master's degree in special education.

The courses are designed to meet Minnesota and North Dakota teacher licensure standards and are offered at a reduced rate, and is approved for reimbursement via the Special Education Pipeline Grant.

All courses are offered online and follow an asynchronous schedule with some onlne real-time meetings scheduled across the course schedule. 

The courses are set up for participants to apply the training to their own work. 

The courses are being offered at a greatly reduced cost because the school districts are committed to supporting their teachers who need to complete their license through strong professional development that is tied directly to the work they are doing every day.

  • Foundations and Methods in Applied Behavior Analysis

    Foundations and Methods in Applied Behavior Analysis

    This course is the first in a three-part series designed to increase your overall knowledge of applied behavior analysis and behavior change procedures. Teachers who include behavior analysis in their instruction are able to manage challenging behavior, increase learning, and support paraprofessionals to utilize these techniques as well. This course is an introduction to behavior analysis and includes six lessons that are targeted to specific areas of interest. Throughout the course, you will be expected to watch videos, listen to podcasts and powerpoint lectures, as well as read the text and supplementary articles. Each lesson includes an assignment to demonstrate competency of the material.

  • Communication and Collaboration

    Communication and Collaboration

    This course is designed for special education professionals and is aligned to MN Professional Education Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) Special Education Core Content Standards. The focus of the course includes communicating with families and assisting families in identifying resources and services to support children with special needs. The course also focuses on collaboration with other school and community professionals, skills needs for facilitating student teams, and cultivating professional relationships.
